Allama Iqbal Open University Tutor Programme

Allama Iqbal Open University Tutor ProgrammeThe Allama Iqbal Open University Tutor Programme is being introduced as a flagship programme in the delivery of higher education in Pakistan. This initiative brings together all the institutions that offer academic programmes, and most of them are state funded. Under this framework, all the institutions associated with the programme will come under one roof. This means that students can choose between the exchange programmes offered by institutions like the Allama Iqbal Open University in Karachi, Pakistan, which is located in the heart of Karachi. Other than this, there are also other popular exchange programmes like TUSK in Sialkot, which is a university affiliated to the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). While the LUMS is the first educational institution to be introduced in the university sector, the programme is being piloted at a few other institutions first before being launched into the mainstream. Allama Iqbal is also the official flagship institution. The Allama Iqbal Open University Tutor Programme is well known for its cost effective teaching and quality education. The university has been able to run the entire programme on its own, without any central government support. Its origin is derived from the combination of a range of institutions and individual people who have become interested in improving the quality of their education. The main point behind this is to avoid the existing situation where there is no provision for an alternative way of imparting higher education. The different institutions that have joined the programme include Sabah University, Punjab University, Sihaba Polytechnic, Isfahan University, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Jinnah University of Science and Technology (JUIST), Muslim University of Pakistan (PUP), Sindh University, Allama Iqbal University, Pakistan Institute of Engineering (PIET), Universiti Malaya, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Punjab Agri cultural University (PARK) and Islamabad University. The scope of this programme is to ensure that the teaching methods employed by all the institutions are similar. The model envisages a system whereby each institution conducts a core programme for the students to join the system and can decide whether they want to offer further education on the same format or to join some other program for their students. Once students have enrolled in a specific course, they have to select a specific institution to pursue further studies in. As an institution joins this scheme, it is allowed to set its own tuition fees.An active role of both the government and the private sectors is being played in this programme. Some of the policies are aimed at enabling students to complete their studies in less time. It is believed that this will be a boon for many people, as the old model of education requires a lot of effort to complete the process. A recent study on this subject has shown that the quality o f education is significantly improved with the introduction of this programme. Many students have opted for Allama Iqbal Open University Tutor Program because of the cost effectiveness of the classes and the quality of the education. Besides, they find it easier to learn. There is no better alternative for modern learners.

What is Macroeconomics

What is Macroeconomics Finding a Simple Macroeconomics Definition ChaptersMacroeconomic Factors in an EconomyExamples of Macroeconomic PolicyWhat is Macroeconomics? Finding an AnswerEconomics can be a difficult subject to study, regardless of whether you are studying the subject at GCSE, A-Level, or at a university. One of the main challenges of economics is that there are so many different terms and economic issues that students are expected to be familiar with.Failure to understand these core economic concepts and any underlying principles of economics can lead to difficulty following classes and moreover can make your learning experience that much more taxing.Luckily, there’s help at hand. The below article examines one of the most common terms you’ll encounter during your economics study â€" macroeconomics â€" and provides examples of where you may encounter macroeconomic policy.Of course, if you still find yourself struggling to get to grips with the definition of macroeconomics, then there’s always extra support on hand through the help of a tutor, such as the economics tutors near me that are available for hire via Superprof.Common macroeconomics definitionsAs a general rule, macroeconomics is considered to be the study of the economy in aggregate. This means that macroeconomics takes a large-scale look at economic activity and examines how the economy as a whole behaves and operates.Although there are other areas of economics you can study, such as how an individual’s behaviour can influence economic outcomes, such studies belong to the areas of microeconomic analysis or behavioural economics, and so are not generally considered within macroeconomics. However, microeconomics â€" a “bottom-up” study of economics and the economy, with a focus on individuals or companies â€" is not mutually exclusive from macroeconomics. Often, issues that concern macroeconomics, such as unemployment in an economy or wages, will also interest economists specialising in microeconomics, although they may look at the issue from a slightly different perspective. If you’re looking for a more specific definition of macroeconomics, then there are a variety of sources and economists that you can turn to for clarification. For instance, take John Maynard Keynes, who is considered to be the father of modern macroeconomics and is mentioned in many an economics textbook. In one of his most famous works, “The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money” and in subsequent writings, Keynes argued that economic output is influenced by factors such as aggregate demand, which could be improved by stimulating government spending as well as by lowering taxes. These thoughts laid the foundation for macroeconomics as we know it today, and spawned Keynesian economics, which is a particular school of economic thought.Although not every economist is a fan of Keynes’ ideas, their influence was widely felt throughout the twentieth century, and there are still proponents of his theories today, most commonly under the scho ol of new-Keynesianism.Of course, macroeconomics is not just an economic theory, as it has also shaped a number of different economic models and policies, which are examined in further detail below.Macroeconomic factors can explain changes, both positive and negative, to a nation's economy. (Source CC0 1.0, Gresham College, Flickr)Unemployment;Fiscal policy; orInflationHowever, there are a variety of items that can have a huge impact on the economy and so would fall within the remit of macroeconomic study, so macroeconomic analysts are not confined to examining the areas listed above. For example, there are a variety of macroeconomic factors that may have positive or negative effects on an economy. For example, natural disasters, such as the recent volcano eruptions in Hawaii, can be considered to be negative macroeconomic factors, as they have a downward effect on a local or national economy. This can be due to many reasons, including a depletion of natural resources, destruction of places of work or factories, or a displaced population.Another example of a negative economic factor is the recent global financial crisis, which began in the U.S.A. in 2007. The crisis led to economic downturns across the globe and is a key example of how macroeconomic factors do not always bring positive changes to an economy. There are also a number of factors which can be positive for an economy. For example, reducing the costs of goods and services can lead to increased demand for that service or product. Over time this should lead to increased revenue for those suppliers, and hopefully, the economy at large. The financial crisis in 2008 is a great example of what a student of macroeconomics might learn about. (Source: CC0 1.0, geralt, Pixabay)Examples of Macroeconomic PolicyThere are many examples of macroeconomic policy the world over, and the more you look for it, the easier it becomes to find examples of such policies.Broadly speaking, those that study macroeconomics examine one of two areas in the economy. For example, economists either study the business cycle, which looks at the cyclical nature of the production of goods and services. Usually, the performance of a business cycle is measured through GDP.Alternatively, macroeconomists tend to study what drives growth in the economy. Both methods of study keep to the core tenants of macroeconomics, namely, examining the factors that influence the economy in the aggregate.Macroeconomics is a hugely important area when it comes to setting policy objectives and measures, whether those policies are set by international bodies or governments. Such policies are aimed at encouraging growth within an economy, or to curb any slowdown that an economy may face.Often, policies that are likely to have been influenced by macroeconomics include items such as:Measures to increase employment within an economy;Setting national inflation targets; The current interest rates set by central banks; orThe rate of corporation an d individual tax rates that apply from tax year to tax year.Of course, analysis of  macroeconomic factors does not in itself dictate what economic, fiscal, or monetary policies that a government may adopt. Naturally, governments are often elected with a particular mandate, and so the policies that they introduce during their time in power may well represent their own political priorities and beliefs. For this reason, there can often be disagreements around what economic policies or models are most effective for an economy, and there’s unlikely to be any consensus between political parties the world over on this matter anytime soon. As such, macroeconomics should be viewed as one of the many tools that can be used to shape policy, but not the be all and end all in itself.Macroeconomics has an impact on economic policies adopted by governments. (Source: CC BY-SA 3.0, Nick Youngson, Alpha Stock Images)What is Macroeconomics? Finding an AnswerAs we’ve seen above, macroeconomics is pr imarily concerned with the study of the economy as a whole, on an aggregated level. As a distinct area of economics, macroeconomics is quite separate from other fields of economic studies, such as microeconomics, which is considered the “other side” to economics study. If you enjoy looking at the bigger picture and want to try and understand just how global and local economies operate the way they do, then you may find that you naturally gravitate to key areas of macroeconomic studies, such as:Employment or unemployment;Factors that influence gross domestic product; andRates of inflation.Naturally, as macroeconomics is a significant area of economic study, it’s highly likely you’ll have to learn more about macroeconomic theories and policies, such as those described above, throughout your economics classes or lectures.Regardless of whether you’re an A-level or university economics student, if you don’t enjoy studying macroeconomics then you may struggle at some point duri ng your studies. This is because, for better or worse, macroeconomics features in almost every school curriculum and university degree course. As such, if you know that you want to study economics at university, whether as a single or combined degree subject, but you just can't get to grips with the basics of macroeconomics, then it may be time to reach out for a helping hand.Although there are ways you can teach yourself about economic problems found in macroeconomics, many people find that an easier solution is to find an economics tutor to help you in your macroeconomics studies. In many ways, an economics tutor is a perfect way to help motivate you and help unlock the aspects that you find most appealing about macroeconomics.Equally, even if you’re comfortable with macroeconomic areas, but would just like a tutor to give you some more question and exam practice, then there are plenty of economics tutors out there to help as well.Superprof, for example, has a wide range of econo mics tutors who are very happy to help you with your studies, whether you would like local or online tuition. 5 Keys to Mastering Opera Singing Technique

5 Keys to Mastering Opera Singing Technique Jessica Dais Opera singers are known as the true “vocal athletes” in the music world. They must rely entirely on their body to be heard: no microphones allowed. (Unless they’re performing in a stadium, of course)! Operatic singing requires voices that can easily be heard over a full orchestra in very large houses. Although pop music dominates today’s televised talent shows and the radio, opera is still a celebrated art form that is more accessible than ever. Every year, many young singers begin their studies of opera singing technique in the hopes that they will have a successful career singing the music of composers like Mozart, Puccini, and Verdi. Have you always wondered what it takes to become an opera singer? Let’s take a look at the five keys to mastering opera singing technique so you can find out how to get started! How to Master Opera Singing Technique   1. Find the Right Teacher An opera voice teacher must have a strong knowledge of the “bel canto” technique, which means “beautiful singing” in Italian. Renowned opera singers such as Maria Callas and Jussi Bjorling knew the importance of bel canto and made it a point to study with such teachers often. When looking for an opera instructor on TakeLessons, you can easily find someone with experience who specializes in bel canto. See if the instructor lists who their teachers were, and what master classes or other programs they have attended. If you’re really serious about opera, you should study with someone who has learned from the experts. 2. Practice Opera Singing Technique Daily Yes, daily. Opera singing requires more than other genres, and to succeed you must have stamina. There are several helpful resources you can purchase that opera singers use, including the vocal exercise books by Vaccai, Concone, and Sieber. These books are inexpensive and can be used daily to improve your opera singing technique! It’s important that you spend time perfecting your arias. However, keep in mind that there is such a thing as practicing too much! While there isn’t a magic number of minutes that every singer should practice, listen to your body. If you feel any sort of fatigue, it’s best to stop for the day so you don’t strain or damage your voice. Check out the video below for more helpful tips, including some good opera songs for beginners that you can try. 3. Study the Greats The best opera singers were considered great because there was consistency in their voices, and they knew how to treat them! Watch them closely and youll start to notice things, like how they never “push” or put forth way too much effort when they sing. They also knew what roles were appropriate for them, as they were fully aware of what their voices could and couldn’t do. Dame Joan Sutherland was often approached to sing heavy Wagner repertoire, but she declined knowing it would ruin her voice. She instead stuck with the bel canto repertoire, which showcased her incomparable coloratura skills. There is a reason why people still talk about artists such as Sutherland and tenor Luciano Pavarotti to this day. Both were absolutely committed to the art of bel canto.  They both enjoyed long careers on the opera stage because of their reliable technique. Here is a YouTube video of them describing some of the basics of bel canto, along with revered mezzo-soprano  Marilyn Horne. 4. Take Care of Your Instrument You are the instrument! Unlike a pianist or guitarist, you can’t put your instrument away it is with you at all times and you must care for it almost obsessively. Opera singers should be sure to have an exercise regimen and a healthy diet.   Many famous opera singers practice yoga as it helps them breathe more effectively. It’s also critical that opera singers get plenty of sleep and stay hydrated at all times. As for your diet, it’s best that singers avoid caffeine and too much dairy, as it can cause acid reflux and excess mucus. Operas are not known for being short performances. As mentioned previously, you will need lots of physical and mental stamina to sing your role well! Keeping your body and voice in tip top shape is necessary to improve your opera singing technique. 5. Study a Few New Languages Americanized vowels, such as the diphthongs you hear in country music, are frowned upon when singing opera. This can be one of the biggest challenges singers face when learning opera singing technique, but a good voice teacher will help you master “pretty vowels” (which bel canto is all about)! The main languages to focus on for opera singing are Italian, French, and German. The more you gain basic knowledge of each language, the more beautiful your vocal lines will be in your arias. Beginning singers should consider taking classes in as many of these languages as possible. Depending on what happens with your opera career, you might be visiting these European countries and you’ll need to know how to communicate with the locals, too! So there you have it. If you can master opera singing technique, you can sing anything! Are you ready to get serious? The best place to start is TakeLessons. Find the right classically trained vocal coach for you today! Mastering the Art of Zen Guitar

Mastering the Art of Zen Guitar Suzy S. Billy Joel once said “I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everybody loves music.” Today, we encourage you to think about why you play the guitar.   Dreams of shredding on stage with Steve Vai aside, most musicians would cite the emotional connection to music as a big motivator. Guitar practice, after all, is like a form of meditation; think about it: theres a reason that art and music therapy have become a booming industry. The ties between human emotion and music are unmistakable. (Need extra proof?   Check out this video of a nursing home resident and his reaction to music from his era.) Many spiritual advocates encourage the act of living in the moment, a mindset that will help you leave the past behind and stop worrying about the things you cant control in the future.   For some musicians, getting lost in the music is natural.   For others, it may take some practice. So how can you add a little zen to your guitar playing? Here are some great tips for a zen guitar practice session, as originally published on Guitar Habits, one of our favorite guitar blogs: Solitude The best way to practicing this way is in solitude. Tell your family when and for how long you are going to practice. Ask them to give you some privacy for the time being. Find yourself a room in the house where you can have some peace and quiet. Create your own sacred hide out where you can play your instrument, where you can practice without distractions (turn off all electronic devices) and work on becoming a better guitar player or songwriter. Slow down Slow is the way to go. When you practice licks, solos, chord progressions, or anything at all, you first need to practice things slow. We are all eager to play faster, but we also need to play fluently. Your fingers and your brain need to get used to new moves and shapes. Be patient and take your time. Concentrate on clear notes, steady rhythm and guitar fluency. Make sure you can play things perfect slowly and then build up speed gradually. Pause Take a moment to breathe and release the tension from the muscles in your fingers, hands, arms, shoulders and back. Let them rest for a few minutes. Go through a small relaxation exercise for great results: Focus on single parts of your body and relax them one by one. Self-fulfilling prophecy You design and live the life you create. Buddha said: “All that we are is the result of what we have thought.” Therefore banish all negative thoughts like: “I can’t do this,” “This is impossible,” and “No way this is going to work.” If those lines enter your mind you will just say to yourself: “I let you go now.” Replace that with positive, motivational and inspiring thoughts like: “I will get there,” “I’m becoming a better player with each workout,” “I’m working on something cool here” and “Practice makes perfect.” What do you think of these tips?   Are you zen in your guitar playing?   Stop by our Facebook page and share your thoughts with the community! 5 Reasons My Guitar Might Be My Best Friend

5 Reasons My Guitar Might Be My Best Friend Sign up successful I’ve had it since I was 18 years old.   Friends, girlfriends, pets, even family come and go, but not this guitar.   It has followed me to places as far away as India and Africa, not to mention all over the USA.   It has played gigs, lessons, jams and entertained thousands while never missing a beat, although, it has broken a string or two on occasion. 2.   This guitar has been a good investment. It was the first decent instrument I ever owned and has held its value, something I can’t say for any of the cars or houses I have owned.  Even if it were worth a million bucks, though, I don’t think I would sell it. 3. This guitar never complains. I’ve played it in the rain, the snow, the very cold and a windstorm so severe that speaker columns got blown over. Once, at a beside-a-lake gig, we were swarmed by so many insects I could hardly see the fretboard.   But it just kept playing. 4. This guitar speaks its mind. It won’t say a word until I pick it up.   Even then, it waits for my fingers to point it in the right direction.   It can be very eloquent and downright sassy when the mood takes it, which is often.   Plug it into a wah-wah?   Forget about it, you will not get a word in edgewise. 5.   This guitar is never boring. When I first picked it up, all I wanted to do was play fast and loud.   But then I got interested in learning more about chords.   When I started experimenting with alternate tunings, I almost lost my mind.   Taking on fingerstyle was quite the worthy challenge.   Wow, so much guitar, so little time! Is your guitar your best friend?   Have you given it a name?   Maybe it’s just a piece of wood and steel to some, but if you spend some time with it, I guarantee you will not be bored! What You Need To Know About The Next Generation GMAT

What You Need To Know About The Next Generation GMAT Improving Academic Performance The following is a guest post from our friends at 2 Minute GMAT: Many are worried about the new upcoming GMAT exam, to say the least. There has not been much information released about the test, which has only added to the worries of test takers around the world. If you did not know, starting on June 2012 GMAT test will be the first to take the new edition of the exam. There will be many changes to the upcoming GMAT. Specifically, the new GMAT will have a section calledIntegrated Reasoning, or IR. This sectionwill measure your ability to analyze different types of data from several sources. The taker will need to consider a number of presented options and take decisions in the same way they would in the real world. The IR section is intended to resemble a real-life scenario, and may involve resources from budget sheets, emails, and notes from top management. Test takers will then need to evaluate and synthesize the data. Unlike the current GMAT, which included verbal, mathematics and analytical writing sections, theNext Generation GMAT examwill exchange the writing section for the new IR part. Because this part is intended to emulate real-life business environments, the answers will either be correct or incorrect. Many individuals have been vocal about these changes. Christine Poon, dean of The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, was quoted saying that, “This has been called the era of big data, and it is increasingly evident that the future will be claimed by those able to see the critical patterns among overwhelming complexity.” Many other business school recruiters also believe this exam was created in responseto the necessities of the business world. The IR section will include different types of questions including a sortable table of information, similar to a spreadsheet, a multi-source reasoningquestion providing test takers with various types of information in multiple tabs (t ext, charts, and tables), and interpreted graphs and graphical images. We want to wish the upcoming GMAT test takers the best of luck.Founded in 2009, 2minuteGMAT guarantees that you will improve your GMAT score by 50 points or your money back.
